General terms of use of the Expensum service. Last updated: July 1, 2026.
1. Service description
Expensum is a personal expense tracking and analysis service accessible via a Telegram bot and a web app. The service allows you to record expenses, income and subscriptions, generate reports and view analytics dashboards.
The service is provided by Michele Pinotti, Italy — expensum.finance@gmail.com.
2. Acceptance of terms
Using Expensum implies full acceptance of these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the service.
The user must be at least 18 years old to use Expensum (Italian Legislative Decree 101/2018 — contractual capacity required for access to the Pro plan).

4. User account
The user is responsible for the security of their login credentials. In the event of unauthorized access, they must notify us promptly at expensum.finance@gmail.com.
Each user may create only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent the Free plan limits is prohibited.
5. Acceptable use
It is prohibited to use Expensum to:
- Automate mass sending of messages to the bot (spam, scraping).
- Test vulnerabilities or attempt unauthorized access.
- Enter false or misleading data for systematic testing purposes that impacts the service.
- Resell or sublicense access to the service to third parties.
- Any use contrary to applicable Italian or European law.
6. Nature of the service — not financial advice
Expensum is a personal expense tracking and organization tool. It does not provide financial, tax, investment or legal advice.
The analyses, reports, forecasts and responses generated by Moneo (AI) are produced automatically and may contain errors. The user is solely responsible for financial decisions made based on the information displayed in the service. For significant financial decisions, always consult a qualified professional.
7. Accuracy of AI data
The AI models used for expense parsing (Mistral AI) and voice transcription (Google Gemini) can make mistakes: amounts misread from hard-to-read receipts, incorrect categorizations, inaccurate transcriptions.
Users are encouraged to verify the data entered, especially before consulting reports for important decisions. Any expense can be manually corrected at any time.
8. Service availability
Expensum is committed to ensuring maximum service availability, but does not offer minimum uptime guarantees (SLA) for Free plan users. The service may be temporarily interrupted for maintenance, updates or force majeure events.
In the event of a prolonged interruption (more than 24 hours), active users will be notified via the official Telegram channel.
9. Intellectual property
The source code, design, the Expensum brand and the Moneo character are the exclusive property of Michele Pinotti. Financial data entered by the user remains the property of the user.
The user grants Expensum a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to process the data entered solely for the purpose of providing the service.
10. Account suspension and deletion
Expensum reserves the right to suspend or delete a user's account in the event of a violation of these Terms, following prior notice via Telegram or email (except in cases of serious abuse, where suspension may be immediate).
Users can delete their account at any time from the Settings → Privacy and data → Delete account section. All personal data will be deleted within 30 days, except as necessary for legal compliance.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Michele Pinotti is not liable for:
- Data loss due to force majeure events or hardware failures.
- Financial decisions made based on Expensum's data or AI analysis.
- Service interruptions of Telegram, Mistral AI, Google or other third-party providers.
- Indirect damages, consequential damages, or loss of profit.
Expensum's maximum liability towards a Pro user is limited to the amount paid in the last 12 months.
11b. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)
Pursuant to Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, users who purchase the Pro plan have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of the activation date, without giving any reason.
The right of withdrawal lapses if the user has expressly requested that performance of the service begin during the withdrawal period and the service has been fully performed (Art. 59(a) Dir. 2011/83/EU). Since the Pro plan is a digital service with immediate access, by accepting instant activation the user consents to the start of performance and acknowledges the loss of the right of withdrawal once performance is complete.
To exercise the right of withdrawal before the 14-day deadline, write to expensum.finance@gmail.comwith the subject "Pro plan withdrawal". The refund will be issued within 14 days.
12. Changes to the terms
Expensum reserves the right to modify these Terms. Changes will be communicated with at least 15 days' notice via Telegram notification or email. For substantial changes that affect user rights or expand the purposes of data processing, explicit acceptance will be required before continuing to use the service. Continued use of the service after the notice period constitutes acceptance only of non-substantial changes (e.g. editorial corrections, clarifications, regulatory updates that do not affect user rights).
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Italian law. For any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably, the competent court is that of the consumer's (user's) place of residence. For disputes with non-consumer users, the competent court is that of Milan.
EU-resident users have the right to use the European Commission's ODR (Online Dispute Resolution) platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
